It is over 25 years now that I had the dream of having my own business. When leaving school I trained as a nurse and after a few years of working in various staff nursing posts, I became a district nurse and worked in the community. During this time I could see there was a need arising for people to be able to organise and be in control of the support they needed at home.
As this idea took root and developed I was able to employ the first member of care staff (Sue Dobson), then another and so on. Tendacare was born and slowly we grew. Sue D is now my deputy manager and has been for many years.
I now continue to be responsible for leading and directing the homecare service that we provide. With pride, I can say that Tendacare has a really good team of staff who know and understand how to set up and follow through packages of care that will give the outcomes our clients desire.
In my own time I enjoy keeping poultry, cooking, walking and spending time with my family.
